I don't know, I think the Black looks better but hey it's your work, just do what feels right for you. :)
So glad you've decided to come back on board with Animation, as long as you don't give up, you're bound to achieve your Goal someday. :)
As for Updating Blogs take my advice, Update at least once Month, you'd be surprised at how much work you've achieved and plus it keeps your Blog looking fresh whilst at the same time it makes it less stressful. If you could Update more than once a month than fantastic but for now stick to once a Month, it'll make it easier for yourself. :)
